Role and Responsibilities

The Clinical Informatics Analyst provides support and training to HCR employees on core clinical systems and applications. This individual provides continuous feedback to management regarding staff proficiency with key applications and provides input for system improvements relative to clinical requirements.


Essential Functions

  • Complete tasks related to implementing, upgrading, maintaining, or changing Clinical applications in new and existing environments:
    • Lead testing for releases, service packs, and hot fixes.
    • Work with Clinical Application Analysts to apply systems analysis techniques and implementation guidelines to introduce additional functionality to the environment: gather requirements, test new functions, coordinate development of new processes inside and outside of the system, obtain end-user approvals, communicate changes to the Application Trainer(s) and provide documentation as requested.
  • Lead and participate in Clinical Application Projects:
    • Assess efficiency of system configuration to identify changes needed to maximize efficiency and conform to clinical regulations and requirements.
    • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to update content in the system.
    • Work with Clinical Application Analysts to provide system analysis expertise to ensure consistency in the proposed use and maintenance of applications and associated data.
  • Coordinate efforts of HCR subject matter experts (SME) from all departments to resolve problems and drive efficiencies in the use of clinical applications.
  • Support training efforts as requested.
  • Consult with local and remote users to define, document, analyze and resolve support requests related to clinical and applications.
  • Work with enterprise application vendor representatives to assess and resolve issues.
  • Manage ticket load to ensure issues are handled timely and accurately. Fully document issues and resolutions.
  • Participate in an on-call system support rotation.
  • Travel to remote sites as needed, up to 25%
  • Other duties as directed.

Requirements:

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline (nursing or therapy) required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Certification in a clinical practice area (e.g., informatics, quality & risk management) preferred.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Eight (8) years in healthcare environment, with experience as a clinician.
  • Home care experience highly desirable.
  • Demonstration of commitment to continuing technical development.
  • Experience working in a team environment, as well as an individual contributor.

Work Environment

The Clinical Informatics Analyst is primarily in an office setting and may be exposed to outdoor conditions.

The working conditions are classified as sedentary work:

  • Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
