We are looking for a skilled and motivated Vascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a 13-week contract assignment to assist in our diagnostic imaging department.
Job Description
As a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations for patients, providing accurate diagnostic results to physicians. Your role will include patient preparation, obtaining vascular images, and ensuring all procedures are performed in accordance with hospital protocols. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate professional with excellent technical and communication skills, who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of vascular ultrasound procedures, including arterial and venous studies, for the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions.
- Assist in patient positioning, ensuring comfort and safety during procedures.
- Obtain high-quality images and document results accurately for interpretation by the physician.
- Maintain detailed patient records and ensure that reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure excellent patient care.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment as needed.
- Provide patient education on preparation for ultrasound exams.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department head.
Requirements
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification required.
- Current BLS/CPR certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in vascular ultrasound.
- Strong knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Availability to work flexible shifts and on-call as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Ultrasound Technology or a related field.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly within a diverse patient population.
