What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant- St Paul Rheumatology position at Healthcare Management Resources?
St Paul Rheumatology is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team. This position's hours will be Monday through Thursday from 8am to 4pm, and Friday's from 8am-12pm.

Our growing practice has two locations in the twin cities in Eagan and Roseville.
Duties:
• Deliver high quality and efficient patient care services including rooming patients, collecting patient history, documenting visit content, relaying instructions to patients/families, and communicating pertinent clinical information.
• Provide direct assistance to physician with medical procedures such as ultrasounds, injections, bone density scans, MRI’s and other procedures as necessary.
• Administer biologic and other injections.
• Submit medication refill requests, prior authorizations and appeals.
• Perform lab draws, triage phone calls, review results management, enter and create patent lab orders, process specimens and prepare for shipment daily.
• Prepare exam rooms for daily activities i.e. clean, organize and stock rooms with necessary supplies, turn on medical/equipment, etc.
• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
• Order lab supplies, and schedule lab appointments when necessary.
Necessary Qualifications:
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited school.
• If not certified, must have medical assistant diploma
• Must have Phlebotomy experience.
• Prior medical assistant experience in clinic setting.
• Demonstrated ability or experience in patient flow management, medical assisting, and confidential management of patient health information.
• Ability to multi-task and to provide services to patients in a warm, professional manner.
• Electronic Health Record experience; must be comfortable with technology.
• Must be proficient using a computer and computer systems.
