Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner-PMHNP to join our team. As a Nurse Practitioner-PMHNP, you will provide specialized care and support to patients with mental health disorders. Your role will involve assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medications, and providing therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and a genuine passion for helping individuals with mental health needs. Must hold a KS license.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine mental health needs
- Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings
- Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness and side effects
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including counseling and psychoeducation
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Participate in clinical research studies as appropriate
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- Previous experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse or in a similar mental health setting
- Experience in providing care for patients across the lifespan, including toddlers and neonates
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities
- Familiarity with dementia care and managing challenging behaviors
- Ability to assess patients for risk of self-harm or harm to others
