Personal Care Homemaker/ Resident Care Attendant/Home Health Aide
The Resident Care Attendant plays a crucial role in the daily lives of residents at Ruggles Assisted Living site at Hearth, providing essential personal care and household services. This position requires close collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the well-being of residents/clients, fostering their independence and maintaining their dignity.
Major Functions:
- Assists with personal care services as per the residents' service plan.
- Performs household services to ensure a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Observes, records, and communicates significant resident information to the team.
- Encourages and supports resident independence.
- Maintains detailed records in daily personal care and communication logs.
- Aids in the coordination of regular evening meals and responds to emergencies, providing detailed reports as required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Personal Care Services:
- Provides daily care in a dignified, safe, and competent manner.
- Assists with bathing, hair care, skin care, oral hygiene, dressing, and undressing as per the service plan.
- Supports meal preparation, feeding, toileting, and the use of assistive devices.
- Ensures adherence to infection control principles and medication cues.
- Reports health status changes to medical professionals and participates in educational activities.
Resident Interaction (Observing, Recording, and Reporting):
- Monitors and reports changes in physical, mental, or behavioral health.
- Documents care provided and interactions with residents, maintaining clear and accurate records.
- Supports resident engagement and involvement in program shaping.
Household Services:
- Manages meal planning, preparation, and household tasks as required by the service plan.
- Ensures cleanliness and orderliness through regular housekeeping duties.
Community Activities:
- Engages with residents to identify interest in activities.
- Collaborates in creating and implementing community activities to support resident growth.
Crisis Prevention/Interaction:
- Provides clear, compassionate communication and crisis intervention as necessary.
- Coordinates with the appropriate team for emergency responses and resident issues.
Other:
- Participates in staff meetings, training sessions, and assists with office tasks.
Schedule
1. Monday - Friday: 7am-3pm
2.Monday - Friday: 3pm-11pm
3.Monday - Friday: 11pm-7am
4.Saturday- Sunday: 7am-7pm
Education, Experience and Licensure:
· Experience working with elderly population with multiple health diagnoses. High School Diploma required.
· Certification of completion of 60-hour personal care homemaker training, including training of universal precautions and infection control, as required by Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA); certified home health aide (HHA) or certified nursing assisted (CNA) preferred.
- Must have CPR Certification.
The Resident Care Attendant position requires a compassionate individual dedicated to the care and support of older residents. This role requires a combination of personal care skills, household management abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively with a care team to ensure the highest quality of life for the residents. Pay: $19.00 per hour
