Key Account Sales Support Manager

DESIRED QUALITIES

This sales role requires that an individual will have the ability to manage success that is not immediate. This individual must have the drive and tenacity to overcome obstacles inherent in large organizations while establishing relationships with key account holders. A pragmatic view and understanding of the long goal is key.


POSITION

The successful candidate will be challenged to support, educate and build relationships with the direct sales teams of key identified accounts, in alignment with department goals, initiatives and policies. To increase the company’s profile, grow revenues and introduce new products at an accelerated rate. This person will be reporting and working closely with the National Sales Manager. The individual will be required to provide in-person sales support and training at localized and national exhibitions, as well as on conference calls and through email. They will need to be adept at identifying and creating opportunities to introduce key products to the end users of these key accounts, to help drive business from the ground up. The position will require a person to direct and track distributors activities and build and keep up to date a contacts list of salespeople and regional managers.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide excellent service to key direct salespeople and their regional managers, to become the ‘go to person’.
  • Co-operate in a team environment.
  • Build sales plan with objectives and metrics to drive business growth
  • Work hands on with direct salespeople and regional managers to help accelerate the uptake of key products, by creating awareness and demand through their end users.
  • Achieve sales quota and sales growth for key assigned accounts.
  • Train, coach, assist, evaluate, and motivate distributors to ensure long-term success.
  • In collaboration with marketing activities, formulate and implement sales strategy linking growth targets with objectives and targets.
  • Prioritize sales activities and opportunities and develop action plans in correlation with priorities and goals. Allocate and utilize organizational resources efficiently and effectively.
  • To attend selective regional and national exhibitions
  • Communicate regularly with the relevant personnel regarding progress and all above issues impacting the achievement of sales and profit goals.
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Other duties as mutually agreed upon.


REQUIRMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science related subject
  • 3 years of sales experience in Laboratory products.
  • Ability to travel when required. Approx. 5 days a month
  • Self-motivated, willing to go beyond the minimum expected with a strong urgency in time management.
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline sensitive environment
  • Microsoft Office: Intermediate level Word/Excel/Outlook
