This is an onsite position at our Five Brothers Kitchen & Bar in Bardstown, KY. Schedule is 5 days per week, 9am-5pm, with occasional nights and weekends.

This position will oversee kitchen staff, maintain high-quality food preparation standards, develop menus, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The Chef is pivotal in balancing creativity, speed and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

How You Will Spend Your Time?
- Menu Development & Quality Control
- Design, develop and update menus with a focus on fresh, seasonal, and cost-effective ingredients.
- Ensure consistency and quality of all dishes, aligning with brand standards.
- Innovate to keep menu offerings exciting while catering to customer preferences and dietary needs.
- Kitchen Operations
- Supervise all kitchen activities, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards (e.g. HACCP compliance).
- Manage food preparation to maintain fast service times without compromising quality.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock checks, and oversee ordering of supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor standard operating procedures for kitchen efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure a cohesive and skilled team.
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and any menu updates.
- Foster a positive work environment that prioritizes teamwork, respect and productivity.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement corrective measures when necessary.
- Cost Control & Budgeting
- Oversee kitchen budgets, including food cost percentages, labor costs and waste management.
- Collaborate with management to establish cost-effective practices and meet financial targets.
- Track and analyze financial performance metrics, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Customer Experience
- Collaborate with the front-of-house to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Be proactive in addressing customer feedback to maintain and improve standards.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Advanced culinary degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years as a Chef or Sous Chef in fast-casual or similar restaurant environment required.
- Deep understanding of kitchen operations, menu engineering, and food cost management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Certified food handler certification
