As our Staff Accountant, you will provide month end support to the Senior Accountant. You’ll start everyday planning and prioritizing work activities, using time efficiently and effectively. You will be called upon to assist departments in analyzing forecasts and budgets. To thrive in this role, you will provide guidance in cost control and reduction efforts with the various departments when reviewing and analyzing operating costs. You must know how to work independently and be available to occasionally work nights and weekends if necessary.

The Greens Creek Mine, located on Admiralty Island 18 miles south of Juneau, is an underground polymetallic mine operating since 1989, employing approximately 485 people. Our Accounting team operates out of our town office at Vintage Park in Juneau, AK. The mine is owned and operated by Hecla Mining Company, headquartered in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. • Training first. We provide training on our systems and procedures. We currently use Ellipse accounting software.
• Apply your financial aptitude to work with journals, accruals, reports, etc.
• You will be engaging with other members of the Control team in providing back up support for Payroll and Accounts Payable.
