Associate Merchant

Helmut Lang is looking for an Associate Merchant to join their Merchandising team. The role is a highly collaborative position and partners closely with a variety of cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a brand enthusiast, analytical, organized, and data-driven, with an ability to combine complex analysis with market knowledge to produce actionable results.

Responsibilities:

• Support director with the men’s development, execution and communication of seasonal assortment strategies throughout the product lifecycle. Starting with line plan, sketch review; proto review; line mapping; assorting.
• Partner with the men’s wholesale team to ensure all tools & assets are ready for market. Communicate in-season changes such as delivery updates, price changes, line status and buy chart maintenance.
• Manage cross-functional flow of communication with design, production, pd and tech throughout the men’s development process.
• Support director in creating men’s product strategies that consider all global needs of the business- fabric/ price/ competitive landscape.
• Support director in building out men’s global and regional seasonal assortment strategies decks to present at global proto review and global line opening.
• Run, manage and publish weekly mrechandising sales reports
• Manage weekly shipping recaps and communicate relevant updates to wholesale & dtc counterpart
• Manage seasonal calendar maintance & communicate changes/updates to sales
• Oversee nuorder shoot- including: model bookings, photographer, expenses, etc.
• Create initial nuorder line sheets for global line opening
• Manage bluecherry validation and cut & sold reports at the close of every market
• Sample management for key milestone meetings & international shipments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years merchandising and/or buying experience
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of retail math
• Advanced excel experience
• Strong organizational skills

Salary range: $70,000.00-78,000.00*
