Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 8am-2:30pm; Wednesday, Friday 8am-1pm
HHHS is seeking a compassionate individual who will help us keep our shelter clean so we can do the best work possible! This position is responsible for the appearance and cleanliness of the shelter with the exception of the kennels. The position is responsible for providing daily janitorial services including cleaning restrooms, floors, and removing trash. The position also performs duties including snow removal from sidewalks, minor grounds keeping, and organizing and stocking donations. Major Duties: Services, cleans, and supplies all restrooms on a daily basis. Sweeps, mops, and scrubs all floors including floors in lobby, break room, gift shop, adoptions, admissions, training room, offices, and Hill’s education room. Dusts and sanitizes furniture such as benches, chairs, tables and appliances; vacuums carpeted areas; cleans windows throughout shelter; disinfects all door handles; sweeps garage. Gathers and empties trash daily; takes cans and cardboard to be recycled. Cleans ceiling and wall air vents monthly. Notifies supervisor concerning items needing repaired and/or cleaning products to order. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. Collects items donated daily and organizes them in storage room. Performs minor grounds keeping duties such as weed pulling and trash pick-up; shovels snow from public walkways and spreads ice melt; cleans alley behind shelter twice yearly. Inventories animal food; delivers food orders to gift shop. Provides quality customer service. Communicates any concerns in a timely manner to coworkers, supervisors or other departments. Performs additional duties as assigned.
