The Financial Analysis and Accounting division, within Hennepin Health, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to provide primary oversight of the accounting operations of the organization. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for maintenance, design, and coordination of the accounting system and organizational structure. This position will also be responsible for safeguarding Hennepin Health's assets and the integrity of its financial reporting through the design, implementation, and enforcement of appropriate internal control policies and procedures.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Health Services Building, 525 Portland Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55415, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. About the position type:

In this position, you will:
- Supervise the finance and accounting staff.
- Lead the budgeting and financial forecasting for Hennepin Health.
- Be responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and financials, including presentation to management.
- Plan, conduct, and manage all internal and external regulatory financial audits.
- Provide statistical and analytical reports to monitor financial operations.
- Be responsible for oversight of all financial regulatory reporting.
Need to have:
- One of the following:
- Eight years or more of experience as an accountant or auditor, with at least two of which are in a functional area of accounting, auditing, or financial management related to the position.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or other specialty area related to the position and four years or more of experience as an accountant or auditor, with at least two of which are in a functional area of accounting, auditing, or financial management related to the position.
- Experience:
- Working in Health Insurance (SAP) and Government (GASB) related accounting standards.
- Developing, preparing, and analyzing budgets and forecasts.
- Performing financial audits.
- Supervising staff.
- Evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting difficult accounting problems and complex accounting records.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theories, and procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction.
- Ability to meet deadlines and produce accurate work in a fast-paced office environment.
