The Role
The Mechanic is responsible for supporting the timely, cost-effective preventive maintenance, deferred maintenance practices, and demand maintenance repair of all vehicles and equipment of the Company. Position helps provide operating personnel with safe and dependable vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities Include But are Not Limited To
- Assess vehicles and equipment to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Complete repairs, scheduled maintenance and inspections of vehicles and equipment. Works with highest regard for safety and completes work with maximum efficiency and in a timely manner.
- Coordinate equipment and vehicle repair and maintenance, including semi-annual servicing, winter repair effort, and emergency repairs.
- Respond to roadside service calls from company vehicles.
- Report parts and supply needs to Shop Supervisor.
- Inspects repaired items for identified malfunction reported, but also looks for conditions of deferred maintenance most likely requiring attention in the immediate future and reports to Shop Manager.
- Works with all personnel operating vehicles and equipment to ensure items are being operated correctly to limit abnormal wear and tear. Trains field personnel of operation of any vehicle or equipment as needed.
- Maintain a high level of good housekeeping and care of company assets in the vehicles, shop and any other area work is performed. Ensures proper security of tools and equipment in shop.
- Helps keep vehicle and equipment manuals and technical bulletins filed and organized.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 Years’ experience in Automotive and/or Truck repair and diagnostics
- 3 years’ experience with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines, and various types of commercial equipment preferred
- Proficiency in the use of all tools of the trade including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools
- Diesel Equipment experience helpful
- Understanding of electrical systems preferred
- Ability to work with large equipment, small equipment, semi-tractors, fleet trucks, agriculture equipment and two-ton trucks is helpful
- Valid Driver’s License
