Your Role
As a Project Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our landscaping projects, ensuring that each design is executed flawlessly from concept to completion. You will be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and team coordination, making key decisions that drive project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct engineering activities, ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations.
- Manage and direct the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project sites such as drainage, erosion plans, backflow permits, etc.
- Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety or sanitation standards.
- Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications for retaining walls and outdoor structures.
- Plan and design hydraulic systems or structures, using computer-assisted design or drawing tools including irrigation pump systems.
- Provide technical advice to personnel regarding design, construction, program modifications, or structural repairs.
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical or geologic data for estimating, site drainage, and design.
- Direct or participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, or elevations to guide construction.
- Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
- Prepare or present bid proposals, environmental impact statements, or property and right-of-way descriptions for major projects.
- Design sound civil structures over 3’1” including retaining walls, outdoor fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens.
- Test soils and type to determine suitability for rooftop garden and to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations.
- Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies to create safety plans for major landscaping projects.
- Conduct studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to create traffic safety plans for roadside landscaping projects.
- Design landscape certification and direct teams to meet LEED.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Strong ability to qualify prospects, build trust, and close sales.
- Must be familiar with estimating concepts and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrate experience reviewing estimates from all stages of design and construction, and all disciplines for consistency, accuracy, and conformance to project scope.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, Power Point, etc.).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Self-motivated team player with mechanical aptitude.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly articulate ideas both verbally and in written communication.
- Ability to view overall customer satisfaction requirements without losing sight of details.
