What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server/Bartender position at Hersha Hospitality Management?
Duties:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations on food and drink selections
- Maintain a clean and organized bar/service area
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately using a POS terminal
- Monitor customer behavior and ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere
- Assist with service as needed, including taking food orders, expediting food orders, and delivering them to customers,
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and concerns
-Other duties as assigned by supervisors and managers
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a server or bartender or in a similar role
- Knowledge of various drink recipes
- Basic math skills for cash handling and calculating drink prices
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and take orders effectively
- Familiarity with operating a POS terminal and processing payments accurately
- Experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
