Description
Develop and implement procedures, work instructions, and methods necessary to meet/exceed and sustain a Quality Operating system consistent with the requirements of QS9000, ford Q1, ISO 14001 and Customer expectations. Interface professionally with Customers, Suppliers, and Hi-Lex Management to learn of and resolve Quality issues. Develop plans and timelines to improve the Quality Operating Systems used at Hi-Lex Hudson.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Develops and implements Electronic and manual methods and Procedures for Manufacturing Assembly line monitoring devices and other equipment used at Hi-Lex.
• Assures quality of finished products.
• Q1, QS, ISO facilitator.
• Process, records and distributes product engineering releases, cost estimates, drawing packages, test reports and other related engineering documents as required.
• Maintains engineering data files and library including patents, customer specs, FEMA’s, test reports and other files as needed.
• Establish and maintain prototype cost file and data bank.
• Implement and maintain testing methods for evaluation in lab and on manufacturing floor.
• PPAP documents and support submissions.
• Provides Launch support.
• Evaluates parts and assemblies to ensure drawing requirements are met.
• Evaluates new and current gaging to ensure usability.
• Performs repeatability and reproducibility testing on all gaging at HCI-H.
• Performs all other testing required by drawing/specifications as required.
• Train and oversee personnel using monitoring equipment.
• Analyze data from testing and report same to Management.
• Setup and Maintain equipment needed to keep Q1, ISO, and QS 9000 status.
• Promotes an environment that is consistent with long-term management objectives.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
• Train personnel in the use and care of equipment.
• Oversee personnel using systems and provide leadership as required.
• Support Engineering efforts.
• May serve on company project task forces.
• Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Specialized Training, Skills, Abilities, Experience:
• 4-year degree in Electronics Engineering Technologies or equivalent work history.
• 3-5 years experience in Q1, QS and ISO.
• Ability to read blue prints, schematics, and to interpret specifications.
• Ability to use Micrometers, Calipers and various measuring instruments.
• Ability to or have knowledge of the operation CMM’s and other optical testing equipment.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
• Office environment with noise from computer peripherals such as mainframe, disk drives and printers.
• Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment. Exposure to dangerous equipment. Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
• Often lifts, carries, or moves objects -- up to 50 lbs. Sometimes weighing more than 50 lbs.
