Job Title: Dentist/DMD
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Dental Operations Director
Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Round Mountain
POSITION SUMMARY:
Hill Country Health & Wellness Center is currently seeking a full time General Dentist (DDS/DMD) to join our integrated, whole person care team. HCHWC is a Federally Qualified Health Center that attracts mission driven individuals who are very passionate about serving the underserved population of Shasta County. HCHWC has two full service clinic locations that offer medical, dental, behavioral health and chiropractic services for the Shasta County Community. The Redding location, Center of Hope, is a fourteen chair operation that is open Monday through Friday. The Round Mountain location is an eight chair operation, and is open Monday through Thursday. Our dental staff rotate between both locations to optimize care coordination and department calibration so that the patient experience is seamless regardless of the location they prefer to receive care. REQUIREMENTS:
- Active California Dental License, free of disciplinary action
- Active DEA
- Current Basic Life Support
- Must have excellent working knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, principles, theories, techniques and practices of dentistry. Must have ability to perform all necessary duties involved in dental hygienist protocol and procedures; as well as those of dental assistant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned which may become essential to the position.
- Performs dental services for residents including oral examinations, prophylaxis, fillings, extractions, anterior root canals, periodontal surgery, root canals, crowns and bridges; takes and interprets radiographs; performs follow-up services.
- Diagnoses dental condition, evaluates oral health, plans and provides treatment.
- Writes, implements, and provides documentation of individual client's treatment; maintains records to comply with federal requirements and writes reports indicative of progress or regression.
- Prepare and/or process documents; review for accuracy and completeness; update information and/or evaluate against policy; compare elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
- Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations.
- Conducts conferences with defendants and/or attorneys, negotiate settlements, and testify in court.

Directs activities of dental personnel in delivering care and treatment to patients and plans.

Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, attorneys, judges, and/or boards of directors.
MATH ABILITY:
Must have intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must have very high reasoning skills. Ability to independently assess the nature and extent of dental, periodontics, and associated conditions and pathology, and formulate effective therapeutic treatment plans. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite. Must have knowledge of medical management software.
EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
Working knowledge of all standard dental equipment necessary to perform duties.

The work environment is an indoor business and dental office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with normal dental equipment noises and business office noises, computers, printers and phones. While performing the duties of this job, employee may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and work near moving mechanical parts; occasionally be exposed to risks of radiation via x-rays, electrical shock and vibration, and chemicals.

Salary : $145,000 - $180,000
