Hilton Garden Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport-Cruise Port is Hiring a Kitchen Supervisor Near Dania, FL

General Description
Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for training, supervision, and working with all Line Cooks and kitchen staff in order to create quality food products; ensuring proper receiving; storage and rotation of food products; scheduling kitchen staff with proper coverage; and adhering to control procedures for cost and quality.
Work experience requirements
1. Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers.

2. Determine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays.

3. Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish to be served.

4. Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared.

5. Monitor stock of kitchen supplies and food.

6. Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program and food products.

7. Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications.

8. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.

9. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.

10. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Kitchen Manager.

Education / SKILL requirements

· 1 year Leadership culinary role experience required.

· 2-3 years of culinary experience required.

· Must be willing and capable of passing Professional Food Managers Certification (CPFM) during the first three months of employment.

· 90% of time standing and 10% of time sitting.

· Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds, and be able to transport up to 70 pounds regularly.

· Must speak fluent English.

· Must be able to hear with 100% accuracy with correction.

· Must be able to see to 20/20 vision with correction.

· Excellent attendance is required with schedule flexibility determined by business needs.
