Job Description
The Hispanic Health Council's Family Wellness Center is a pivotal community resource focused on enhancing health outcomes and reducing disparities in the Greater Hartford region. We offer holistic wellness services across eight domains—physical, intellectual, occupational, social, emotional, financial, spiritual, and environmental—while providing direct health services and care coordination for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Collaborating with 18 Anchor Partner agencies, we serve urban families, particularly people of color and those with limited access to wellness services. Our success relies on the integration of services and a strong community partnership, driving impactful cross-sector collaborations for a healthier community.
The Research Associate III serves as part of the Research and Advocacy Center. The incumbent will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive evaluation frameworks that effectively measure the project's success. This includes establishing clear, actionable metrics that align with project goals and objectives, ensuring that the evaluation processes are both robust and relevant. The approach will integrate both quantitative and qualitative data, employing a variety of data collection methods such as surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gather diverse insights. By utilizing this multifaceted strategy, the Researcher will capture a holistic view of project outcomes and impacts, enabling the team to make informed decisions and continuously improve project effectiveness. The individual will also collaborate with partners throughout all phases of the study, generate biweekly reports, and perform related tasks as needed.
The hours of work are 35 per week.
This is a grant funded position. The position is contingent on grant funding.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of project management/project research and data collection
- Demonstrated experience synthesizing data from a variety of sources
- Knowledge of technical platforms (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Knowledge of quantitative/qualitative analytical software (SPSS, SAS, NVivo, R-QDA, etc.)
- Knowledge of statistical and qualitative analysis
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to collect data and translate/communicate complex research findings
- Ability to think analytically; define and thoroughly document tasks; conceptualize, plan, and complete major elements of project work
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience contributing to report writing and other technical writing
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or related field.
Bilingual – English/Spanish required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three-five years of post-graduate degree experience in social science research and evaluation experience.
