Project Engineer II is responsible for technical and engineering aspects of a project. They ensure that projects meet technical standards, budgets, and timelines. This role will primarily interface with both internal and external stakeholders. Approximate work contribution would be split 25% support role / 75% lead role. Capital projects under management range between $25k – $500k with varying complexity and difficulty. This is a cross-functional position reporting to a specific business unit but requires the ability to flex across all USOps Business Units for support when needed.
Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:
1. Perform CAD layouts for buildings, production machines, and equipment design changes.
2. Coordinate building and utility designs with equipment requirements.
3. Conceptualize and design workstations and/or processes for improved operation efficiencies.
4. Schedule facility changes required by the project(s) including developing cost estimates for labor, material, equipment, etc.
5. Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate project activities.
a. Manage project budgets and timelines.
b. Ensure that outside contractors meet project scope of work (ie project completion, reference manuals, programs and revisions).
c. Ensure that all procurement activities and operations are performed in compliance with Hitchiner Code of Conduct.
d. Assure general technical objectives are met which are required by State and local codes while meeting Hitchiner property insurance recommendations.
6. Apply engineering techniques to develop innovative approaches to problems.
7. Communicate with project stakeholders.
8. Manage all aspects of product and process transition throughout project.
9. Ensure integrity of the manufacturing and test process PFMEA and mitigation plans through developing a complete understanding of the technical aspects of process design.
10. Manage capital projects ranging from $25K - $500K of moderate difficulty and complexity.
11. Mentor junior engineers in their professional development ensuring project success and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field.
2. Minimum 5 years applicable experience
3. Advanced knowledge of Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) software and plant equipment layouts with associated building renovations
4. Engineering fundamentals including machinery applications.
5. Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Excellent communication, writing skills and ability to work with internal stakeholders.
7. Project management skills including strong analytical and organizational skills.
8. Ability to travel.
