COMMERCIAL LINES INSURANCE ACCOUNT MANAGER- PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY A COMMERCIAL LINES ACCOUNT MANAGER AT AN INDEPENDENT AGENCY, AS THE APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED. MUST HAVE A VALID GA P&C AGENT'S LICENSE
REPORTS TO: Agency Owners
PRIMARY ROLE: Provide ongoing, extraordinary, comprehensive service for assigned Commercial Lines accounts, including but not limited to:
- Marketing, negotiation, and placement of CL new business and renewal accounts
- Exposure analysis and development and implementation of customized client risk management programs for assigned accounts
- Achieving agency account retention goals through creative management of accounts, including proactive account rounding, up-selling of limits and coverages, as a result of exposure analysis
- Development and implementation of service plans for selected accounts
- Serving as a resource to agency staff
QUALIFICATIONS: Appropriate State license(s). Minimum 5 years’ insurance brokerage or equivalent experience.
ECUCATION and EXPERIENCE : Completion of CLCS, CISR, ARM, AU, CIC, CRM, or equivalent designation. College preferred but not required. Must have extensive knowledge of all lines of commercial insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially those products represented through agency. Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage operations including claims handling; documentation standards; procedures & workflows; insurance agency accounting; Errors & Omissions concepts and guidelines; commercial lines rating, including Experience Mod and Liability Experience rating; carrier underwriting guidelines; and applicable insurance laws/codes
Experience and expertise in operating in electronic environment; excellent automation skills, including MIS, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point; document management; carrier proprietary system;, document management; and ancillary systems, for example, writable software, phone, and/or data sharing software employed by the agency
Thorough knowledge of risk assessment and risk management techniques
Excellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
DUTIES: Support Producers’ sales efforts by helping to develop developing complete submissions on new and renewal business and obtain proposals in conjunction with agency marketing procedures
Perform annual review and risk exposure analysis of renewal policies for proper coverage, incorporating information obtained from client and/or Producer
Maintain automated client files, ensure proper documentation, and reduce the potential for E&O issues by processing all policies, endorsement change invoices, binders, certificates of insurance, documentation, activities, etc., according to agency procedures, and within established agency timelines
Maintain control of renewal expiration lists, binders, audits, and aged receivables in accordance with agency guidelines.
Respond to client inquiries, incoming client and company requests in accordance with agency guidelines
Review all items to be processed, to insure items were received as ordered.
Prepare billing following agency’s credit and collections policies.
Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills. Maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirements of carriers. Keep current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins.
Serve as a resource to all clients as needed on a rotational basis, in addition to handling assigned accounts
Serve as a resource to fellow Account Managers, including conducting in-house education/training at management’s request
Participate in any special projects at management’s request
