Job Summary
The Assembler 1 is responsible for using a variety of methods to fasten components together into functional sub components and/or finished products at a basic level in order to support the organizations production requirements.
Responsible for participating, supporting, and maintaining compliance to the Companys quality, environmental and occupational health & safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities as defined by the Company.
Position responsibilities do not include direct communications with employees, customers, or representatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Proficient in the use of small hand tools including a drill, ratchet, and rivet gun.
- Ability to accurately identify differences in hardware, fasteners, etc. with assistance.
- Can use minor machines including overhead cranes, forklift, and hydraulic press.
- Able to follow strict procedures related to the method of assembly.
- Ability to use shop floor manager to post against work orders.
- Able to assemble components from a drawing in a timely manner.

Working Environment
The working environment is characterized as a shop setting. The temperature in the shop closely follows that of the outdoors. Outdoor tasks may be assigned. This position can expect to regularly come into contact with dirt, grease, and oil. An employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Skills and Competencies__________________________________________________________
Language Skills- Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between sets of numbers. Ability to speak and print simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Computer Skills- To perform this job successfully, an individual will have to interact with a computer. Basic skills required shall include the use of Internet software and the ability to look-up, open, and manage files.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
