Job Summary
The Product Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing products for efficient production while ensuring product quality and cost-effectiveness. This role includes the ability to create and render product concepts, supporting visual communication and product design validation. The Product Engineer will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, design, production, quality control, and supply chain, to bring innovative solutions to life and maintain high standards in manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities
  • Product Design and Development:
    • Create detailed product designs, specifications, and drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with the design and R&D teams to bring new products from concept through production.
    • Conduct feasibility studies to assess manufacturability, material requirements, and cost constraints.
    • Render 3D Concepts: Use rendering software to create visual representations of product designs, enabling stakeholders to visualize concepts in realistic detail.
  • Production Support:
    • Develop and validate BOMs (Bill of Materials) and process instructions for product assembly.
    • Troubleshoot design and production issues, providing technical support to resolve any engineering-related challenges.
    • Work with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost, and quality.
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conduct or oversee product testing to validate designs, ensure durability, and meet customer requirements.
    • Review and analyze test data to improve product design and identify potential areas for improvement.
    • Work with quality assurance to ensure product quality standards are met consistently.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and product quality enhancement.
    • Collaborate on the implementation of process control methods to reduce production waste and defects.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Maintain detailed records of product designs, testing results, modifications, and improvements.
    • Ensure all product development activities comply with regulatory standards, including safety and environmental requirements.
    • Prepare technical documentation and user manuals as needed for product launches and manufacturing guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in product engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD and rendering software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, KeyShot, or Blender) for creating and visualizing product designs.
    • Familiarity with ERP systems and experience managing BOMs.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in statistical analysis and process optimization.
