Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Director (Support Coordinator) to oversee and manage our program operations in the field of individual and community-based supports. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, healthcare administration, medication management, care planning, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NJ State DDD Regulatory standards
- Supervise, support, and mentor staff in delivering high-quality care services
- Oversee medication administration protocols and ensure proper implementation
- Lead recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives for Direct Support Professionals
- Manage program budgets and reporting
- Collaborate with supports coordinators, support brokerages, families, and community resources to enhance client well-being
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for clients while promoting independence and social engagement
- Implement and oversee quality assurance programs to maintain service excellence
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies and community partners
- Stay current with industry best practices and implement innovative solutions in care delivery
Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field; Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in individual and community-based supports, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
- Current BSN/RN license a plus; other relevant certifications considered
- Demonstrated experience in supports coordination, supports brokerage, or group home settings
- Proficiency in medication administration protocols and care plan development
- Thorough knowledge of NJ State DDD Regulatory standards
- Proven leadership abilities, including team management and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in performance management and staff development
- Proficiency in industry-specific software for care planning, reporting, and client management
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with program-specific budgeting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new technologies
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Physical Requirements
- Must have valid NJ Motor Vehicle License
- Ability to travel within the service area
