FUEL Supervisor
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the store manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and assist with monitoring all established quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. SIGNIFICANT JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises Fuel Clerks in their daily tasks.
- Responsible for ensuring proper flows, temperatures, pressures, levels, and functionality of equipment.
- Trains and develops skills of existing and new employees.
- Maintain direct communication with Main Store Manager and Corporate Office.
- Understand and adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items (for example tobacco and alcohol).
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold at the Fuel Center and assisting them with issues at the Fuel stations.
- Display a positive attitude.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Build and remove displays for seasonal items/products.
- Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions. Reorder low or out of stock items.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the Corporate Office.
- Maintain state, local and company compliance reports and logs.
- Process fuel, merchandise, and lottery sales quickly and accurately.
- Perform cashier functions, including opening/closing register, ringing sales, completing tender transactions, and money drops.
- Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions to management.
- Follow opening and closing procedures for Fuel center.
- Maintain till according to company policy.
- Comply with safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to management and Corporate Office.
- Promote trust and respect among associates.
- Complete incident and security reports.
- Maintain cleanliness of Fuel Center.
- Clean up spills and complete Fuel Spill Report.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency plans numbers and procedures.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
- Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Complete daily inspection.
- Promote/offer reward programs to customers.
- Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify appropriate department or store manager of any items in need of repair.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must possess good people skills.
- Ability to delegate duties and assignments.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The Fuel Supervisor reports directly to the Main Store Manager.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
- Extensive knowledge in the operation and maintenance of hydrocarbon systems to assist in coordinating and/or troubleshooting daily operations; ability to lead company response during emergency situations.
- Knowledge in the requirements of applicable local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Knowledge of company activities and business practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills addressing and executing solutions to complex problems.
- Strong understanding of project management techniques with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to promote cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables.
- Ability to train and develop staff, provide constructive performance feedback and appraisals, and take appropriate corrective action to address performance and conduct issues.
- Ability to operate as a self-starter with individual drive and initiative to start, develop and complete projects and initiatives.
- Ability to effectively handle pressures and demands of deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at various levels of the organization.
- Ability to establish and maintain constructive and positive working relationships with internal clients and external customers.
- Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for objects or people who may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High School Diploma or bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Eight (8) years’ directly related experience in the operations and maintenance of a hydrocarbon system and associated equipment.
- OCC Operator A, B, A/B or C certificate as required.
- Valid State Driver's License.
- Retail experience preferred.
Work environment/physical demands:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Lifting of items 50 lbs.
- This position requires no travel.
