Part time (2 shifts/week). Hours will vary 6a-2p or 10a-6p with rotating weekends and holidays.

Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and baked goods, and other edible items for consumption. Prepares recipes using a variety of kitchen utensils. Estimates food inventory requirements. Orders food from suppliers and/or procures food from storage. Completes food logs and production records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a Cook:

  • Prepare patient food and baked goods, including any special dietary restrictions
  • Prepare food for Bistro and catering requests. Assists with set up and delivery of catered meals.
  • Collaborate, contribute to, and prepare items for patient menu, Bistro menu, including Bistro specials.
  • Responsible for proper sanitation and safety standards regarding the preparation, cooking, and production line stages of food preparation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and food service areas to include cleaning counters and surfaces, washing pots pans, and patient trays, sweeping and mopping floors, removing garbage, etc., following appropriate sanitation procedures.
  • Replenishes food and beverage items in various campus locations.

Qualifications for a Cook:

  • Education/Certification

High school diploma/GED preferred.

  • Experience

Experience with institutional and/or commercial food preparation preferred.
