Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Dietary & Housekeeping Clerk prepares meals and snacks for patients at our Compassionate Care Center, including calculating and developing meals for patients in compliance with specialty diets. The Dietary & Housekeeping Clerk prepares food for shifts when the kitchen is closed and is responsible for all areas of the kitchen. They order/obtain food, supplies, and related inventory including formulas and dietary supplements through the pharmacy. This position is responsible for maintaining stock in the nourishment room. The clerk is responsible for housekeeping patient care areas and business offices.
Position Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in food service and/or housekeeping in a healthcare environment is preferred
- Food handler's license (Kentucky)
- Good interpersonal skills to establish supportive relationships with patients, families, and co-workers
- Ability to function as a team member
- Current Kentucky driver’s license and unlimited access to a reliable automobile with appropriate insurance
- All employees must have the ability to lift and/or move a minimum of 40 pounds using proper body mechanics and safety measures. Individual job responsibilities may require lifting more than 40 pounds on occasion.
- Employees are regularly required to see, talk, and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands; and to handle, finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
