TITLE: Whiskey Blender
TYPE: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN
SUPERVISOR: Production Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Responsible for providing support in the day-to-day operations for creating high performing spirits products (from raw materials stage through the bottling processing stage.)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Racking, pumping, clarifying and blending complex distilled spirits;
- Setting up, operation, or tending continuous flow of vat-type equipment, filter presses, shaker screens, centrifuges, condenser tubes;
- Precipitating, fermenting, or evaporating tanks;
- Scrubbing towers or batch stills;
- Sanitation and sterilization of casks, barrels, tanks, screens, inflow pipes, production areas, or equipment;
- Using hoses, brushes, scrapers, or chemical solutions; and
- Maintaining all spirits blends to comply with TTB formulas; and completing tracking paperwork from raw materials to bottle.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS
Because of the nature of this position, all candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
EXPERIENCE
One year of experience producing high performing spirits from the raw materials stage through the bottling processing stage; operating distillery equipment to include centrifuges, fermenting tanks, batch skills, proofing down spirits, and handling raw materials including high proof grain neutral spirits (GNS), grains, molasses, and botanicals.
