What you can expect:
A Sales Associate-Key Holder at Brown Elephant performs store opening and closing functions, in addition to cashiering, on-floor sales, stocking, sorting/pricing of donations, general cleaning and maintenance, and customer service duties.
Pay:
$19.23
How you will make an impact:
- Performs daily store opening and closing procedures, including POS processes per the Cash Handling Policy.
- Operates cash registers, handles returns and exchanges, and other Point of Sale (POS) transactions.
- Performs active on-floor selling and up-selling, including but not limited to, approaching and engaging customers and donors, writing and moving PIFs (paid in full), creating a customer base, and negotiating sales.
- Provides timely and courteous customer service following established guidelines.
- Engages in active on floor selling and up-selling of merchandise, and client building.
- Greets and assists customers and donors by following established customer service guidelines.
- Stocks, prices, and sorts donations and merchandise.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and customer friendly environment.
- May attend meetings as necessary.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education:
- High school diploma/ GED or equivalent is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to drive sales and achieve store profitability.
- Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to represents the organization in a professional and positive manner.
- Knowledge of basic computer and data entry skills.
- Willingness and desire to work with diverse populations.
Preferred:
- 2-3 years of resale/retail sales and cashiering experience is preferred.
- Bilingual- (English/Spanish) proficiency is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of fashion trends, furniture, vintage, and collectables in the resale market is preferred.
Working Conditions:
High paced, casual environment. Space is limited and must be shared for most appropriate usage. Subject to high volume and irregular hours. Weekend hours required and flexibility to work at other locations.
ADA SPECIFICATIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Requires ability to speak audibly and listen actively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat and climb for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions as needed.
- Irregular and weekend hours required. Weekly work schedule will be opposite of the Store Manager.
- Flexibility and willingness to work at other Brown Elephant locations, as necessary.
- May require periodic local travel for additional training.
