What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Driver position at Howard County Children's Center?
The Bus driver is dierctly responsible to the Transportatatio Supervisor. The driver provides safe transortation for the clients residing on the designated route. The driver is to be avilable for any in service, meetings and training the coordinatormakes availabe and will be paid regular rate for these hours.
Duties and Responsiblites
- The driver will arrange cleints in designated seats with seat belts or in car seats.
- The driver will maintain acceptable behavior by clients on the bus to insure safety to and from the center. The driver will prevent any smoking, dipping, chewing tobacco, eating, or drinking any berverage at all times on the bus.
- The driver will conduct daily bus inspection and record all necessary inforamtion on inspection sheets. The driver will record all necessary information on FTA sheets (if bus is under FTA contact). Any repair needs will reported any needs in these areas.
- The driver will arrange for a subsitite driver in the event the drver is unable to full fill the duties at any time and will inform the substitue of any speial needs of clients' health concernsm changes in residence and route adjustments. The drivers will also inform the Transportation supervisor and Secretary/ Receptionist of impending absence.
- The driver will conduct emergency evacuation drills in connection with the Center Transportation Supervisor every three months; record and file the procedure with the records clerk and transportation supervisor.

Pay: $12.00 per hour
