We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Management Service (FMS) Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish, have a strong background in financial management, healthcare, patients’ rights, and HIPAA compliance, with a passion for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, and possess a thorough understanding of California's Self Determination Program (SDP). This role is critical in assisting individuals and families in managing their fiscal responsibilities and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and guidance to clients and families participating in the Self Determination Program.
- Assist clients in budgeting, financial planning, and expense tracking.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to the Self Determination Program.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of client financial records.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with other team members to deliver high-quality services.
- Offer bilingual support and communication to Spanish-speaking clients.
- Educate clients on fiscal management practices and resources available.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Social Work, or a related field.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in financial management or a related field.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Preferred experience includes:
- Experience in healthcare financial management.
- Knowledge of patients’ rights and HIPAA compliance.
- Knowledge and experience with California’s Self Determination Program and/or healthcare management/regulations.
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
- Proficiency in any accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Experience in a non-profit or public sector setting.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
