Mechanical Engineer
Location: San Jose, California
Contract: 12 months with strong potential for extension/direct hire
Schedule: 9x80 Schedule (1st shift); expect some OT and up to 10% travel
Compensation: $49-51/hour with optional PTO and Benefits
Overview:
Our client seeks multiple Mechanical Engineers to support their Combat Vehicles programs. These roles involve the integration of vehicle sub-system components and installations onto vehicle platforms within the Mechanical Engineering group.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine mechanical designs to meet specified requirements for ground vehicle applications in a defense environment.
- Incorporate design revisions and release updates through the PTC CREO system, following all necessary design change processes.
- Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements.
- Participate in design and process reviews, interfacing with senior members of the integrated product team to address and update on project issues.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company safety regulations.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency with CREO or similar CAD software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
- Solid engineering analytical skills with a deep understanding of GD&T for drawings.
- Experience in analyzing bolted joints and performing tolerance analyses.
Preferred Skills:
- Extensive experience with PTC CREO (2 years) for creating models and drawings.
- Familiarity with military vehicle design and requirements.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 2 years in a related engineering field.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with PTC CREO and familiarity with military vehicles.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
