What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine Operator- 1st Shift position at HSM?
Performs various tasks to cut foam safely and efficiently on CNC. Basic Computer Skills, ability to read and interpret measurements, basic math skills including fractions are needed to perform tasks effectively.
- Obtain production orders daily. Sort the orders out by due date, with the oldest orders scheduled first, management may make changes to daily schedule to meet production needs.
- Push pull and lift block to platform. Inspect block for any defects before and after cuts are made.
- Insert appropriate program based on order into control panel on CNC.
- Must be able to use and interpret a tape measure and use basic math skills including decimals and fractions.
- Inspect all product after cuts are made.
- Report any issues or concerns to management to ensure that quality standards are met.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience in foam fabrication or related industry preferred.
- Experience in operation of CNC machine preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
