Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is seeking an intern to support our Accounting team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to adhere to a strict code of confidentiality. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills, extensive research experience, and enthusiasm for working in the Accounting field. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, gathering data for annual budget preparation, performing general accounting functions associated with the preparation of monthly financial reports and coordinating the Credit Union’s vendor management program.

Responsibilities

• Currently pursuing a degree in a field related to accounting/finance
• Students in junior or senior year preferred.
• Strong academic standing
•  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Understanding of basic accounting principles

• General ledger

• Effective time-management skills
• Microsoft Office proficient
• Ensure departmental compliance with all Credit Union policies and procedures as well as Federal and State regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

• Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

• Spring program : Late January through Mid-May• Must be available to work 15 hours per week (Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm)• Paid Internship
