Compensation: $36.00per hour ($120 a day perdiem)

Position Overview
Hutco, Inc. is hiring skilled Level II Inspectors in Liquid Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT), and Visual Testing (VT) for the Newport News team. This 12-month assignment requires documented Level II certification per ASNT's SNT-TC-1A standards (2001 Edition or later) and at least four years of recent experience in the specified inspection methods. Candidates should be prepared for rigorous examinations to ensure compliance and proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MT inspections on structural welds within a shop environment, following all specified protocols and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough Liquid Penetrant and Visual Testing with high accuracy, adhering to documented procedures and specifications.
- Operate NDT equipment for test data recording and analysis, ensuring data aligns with regulatory requirements.
- Perform confined space inspections and minor grinding to verify weld relevancy.
- Adhere to all OSHA and ANSI standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification Requirements: Level II certification per ASNT's SNT-TC-1A standards (2001 Edition or later) for PT, MT, and VT inspections.
- Exams and Testing: Successful completion of general theory, specific, and practical exams for each inspection method. Additional exams will be administered by Newport News.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years documented recent experience in applicable inspection methods, with work performed within the last 9 months.
- Safety Training: Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Respirator training and fit testing, Safety Harness, and Respirator qualifications.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb, crawl, and work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs, and be comfortable working at heights.
Shift and Work Schedule
- Primary Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; Saturday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with up to 12-hour shifts available based on supervisor discretion.
