What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN PreOp PACU position at Hyde Park Surgery Center (11805)?
USPI Hyde Park Surgery Center is seeking a motivated RN PreOp PACU to join our team. We have 3 OR rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Spine. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. The candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.
Job Summary: Pre-Op responsibilities included but are not limited to admitting the patient to the clinical area and providing nursing care to the preoperative patient, as well as, developing a nursing care plan specifically designed for the individual patient. Post-Operative Care Unit (PACU) responsibilities include are not limited to patients entering the postoperative phase of treatment, responsible for assessing the patient's condition and readiness for discharge.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Texas Nursing License
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Pre-Op/PACU
- Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees
- Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to pre-operative and PACU (post anesthesia care unit)
- Clinically proficient in pre-op/ PACU nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient
- Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position
