IMC is currently hiring a Full Time Scheduler to join our Registration team. The Scheduler assistsphysicians’ offices and patients in scheduling diagnostic and therapeuticservices to be performed by the hospital.Ensures that pre-certification and insurance verification are done in atimely manner and that pre-certification has been obtained prior to anyprocedure being performed when required.Communicates patient financial responsibility to the patient ORcommunicates the patient’s insurance benefits to the Financial Counselor sothat a proper quote of patient financial responsibility may be communicated tothe patient.Notifies insurancecompanies of patients’ inpatient admissions and communicates any insurance’srequest for clinical information to the Case Management department.Insurance verification information must beentered into the hospital’s information system and pre-registration packetsfiled promptly for reference by other staff and departments.All employees are to communicate in acustomer-friendly, professional manner to assist our patients, visitors andother customers.May be required to helpin other areas of registration or PBX when needed. Every effort is made to havescheduled procedures pre-admitted and notified of financial responsibility 2weeks in advance of their procedure.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• One year medical scheduling/insurance verification preferred

PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assistphysicians’ staff and patients with scheduling of procedures
• Ensurespre-certification is obtained prior to performance of procedures requiring such

• Communicatespatient’s insurance benefits and financial responsibilities to patients and/orFinancial Counselor
• Notifiesinsurances of patients’ admissions to obtain authorization of the admission andcommunicates any insurance company’s request for clinical information to theCase Management department
