Roles & Responsibilities:

The Financial Analyst I plans, organizes and directs day to day analytical activities and functions related to the fiscal and administrative functions for the Department. Provides administrative services and analytical support to management.


Responsibilities

  • Monitors monthly fund and or/general ledgers for department, grant and contract accounts, and prepare reconciliation worksheets on a monthly basis.
  • Communicates with Finance department staff to obtain variance explanations, to alert them with the variance on ledger for grant and contract account.
  • Prepares monthly reconciliation reports and participates in follow-up discussions with PI and department administrators.
  • Reviews, approves and prepares transactions in the procurement system (include but not limited to Sinai Cloud HR Transaction, Purchase order, Fund Transfer, contract PO, Petty Cash and employee reimbursement).
  • Assists in preparing monthly expense report for the Senior Administrative Director.
  • Assists in preparing the annual budget for the department as a whole including the clinic, grants, perm/temp restricted funds and the faculty practice.
  • Assists in reconciling and reviewing the Federal Financial Report or Report of Expenditures at the close of each grant year.
  • Assists with budget modifications, financial related requests questions and concerns.
  • Works collaboratively with the administrative coordinator at the Lautenberg Lab in setting up and monitoring capital equipment leases and payments.
  • Monitors Faculty Start up and Seed Funds
  • Performs other related duties.



Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3 years of experience in Finance

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62571.36 - $80000.09 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
