This Applications Engineer position contributes to the success of the company by providing technical/commercial sales support to an outside sales force in process of selling pressure sensitive labeling machines for our ID Technology brands. Support includes probing the sales force/end user for technical requirements, preparation of machine quotations, addressing technical issues relating to label application/product handling, sourcing third party components to be packaged with the labeler solution, following up with sales force on order status of issued machine quotations and in-house sales assistance with machine demonstrations and tests.

- Review labeling application requirements/samples submitted by outside sales force.
- Review and address technical/commercial specifications submitted for the purchase of labeling equipment.
- Interface with Engineering/Production to determine technical solutions for labeling applications
- Conceptualize & communicate labeling machine solutions to sales/end user.
- Prepare price quotations / supporting docs for use by the outside sales force.
- Assist in the preparation for release of equip. POs to engineering/production.

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2 years experience with applications and/or estimating for automated industrial equipment, ideally packaging and/or labeling.
- Technical understanding of the operation/functionality/application of pressure sensitive labeling equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral & written, for internal/external customers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, focus on deadlines, stay organized and document and communicate key details.
- Proficient use of a PC, working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), company ERP software.
- Experience developing and maintaining Excel based pricing tools.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office automation using macros and VBA.
- Technical Drawing – able to read/understand machine/line drawings and create conceptual drawings for use by sales.
- Working knowledge/understanding of production line operation of packaging equipment and processes.
