Starting Pay Range: $15.00/hr
2024-25 Work Calendar: 7.5 Hrs/Day, Remaining 89 Days of 2024-25 School Year

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Paraprofessional PRAXIS or two years college credits, preferred
- Strong verbal and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and time management
- Quick learner with a positive attitude
- Valid Idaho identification
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
Job Summary
The Paraprofessional plays a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the educational experience of students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. This position involves working closely with students in various educational settings, including preschool and daycare environments, to foster a positive learning atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in early childhood education and demonstrate effective classroom management skills.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and educational activities tailored to students' needs.
- Support literacy education by helping students develop reading and writing skills.
- Manage classroom behavior and provide guidance to students, particularly those with autism or other special needs.
- Collaborate with educators to develop and adapt curriculum materials that promote inclusive learning.
- Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one instruction to reinforce learning objectives.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- Experience or education in early childhood education, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies for working with children on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in literacy education, lesson planning, and curriculum development.
- Excellent classroom management abilities to maintain a productive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's educational journeys.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
