Reports to: Front Desk Manager/ Membership Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Front Desk Associate at the YMCA, you will serve as the welcoming face of our organization, providing exceptional customer service to members, guests, and program participants. You will be responsible for managing the front desk operations, assisting with administrative tasks, and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all who enter our facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Criminal background check required during hiring process.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Previous customer service or front desk experience preferred.
- CPR/First Aid certification may be required or provided upon hire.
- PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Enjoy, be skilled at, and understand the importance of building relationships with members, staff, volunteers, donors, and community leaders. (i.e., Show interest in their concerns. Do your best to know members’ names and use them in their presence. Be open, friendly, and approachable to members).
- Experience with computers, including personal computer applications such as database, word processing, and basic internet skills (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, and web-based email).
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, sorting mail, and managing email correspondence.
- Maintain accurate records of membership data, program registrations, and financial transactions using our membership software system.
- Process payments, issue receipts, and reconcile cash drawers according to YMCA procedures.
- Assist with membership retention efforts by following up with members about upcoming renewals and program opportunities.
- Follow the office casual dress code. It is required to have a Y-logo (either name tag, staff shirt, or vest) on your body while clocked in for your appropriate shift.
- Assist members with registration, inquiries, and concerns in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Handle membership inquiries, sign-ups, renewals, and cancellations efficiently and accurately.
- Be knowledgeable about the YMCA, its programs, and policies. Be able to articulate the YMCA’s mission, values, and benefits.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
