Job Description
This position will be filled at either the Program Manager or Associate Program Manager level depending on education and experience of the successful candidate. The purpose of this position is to directly and positively impact graduate student enrollment and retention at ISU by providing a primary point of contact for prospective and current graduate students in the graduate programs of assigned Colleges.
This position is not eligible for remote work. It is an in-person on campus position.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and managing Graduation and Student Retention Initiatives [30%]
- Partnering with graduate programs and contributing to planning and data analysis to optimize graduate student enrollment strategies. Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders. [25%]
- Liaison to assigned Colleges and their graduate programs, advisors, faculty, and students to create, facilitate, and implement processes, systems, and plans. [15%]
- Conducts audits and manage program completion verification processes using Degree Works and Banner systems. [15%]
- Guides prospective students regarding admissions procedures and assists current students with understanding graduation policies and procedures. [10%]
- Maintains and monitors information on academic progress of assigned students. [5%]
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Two years of professional experience in higher education or similar industry
- Resilient customer focus
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Ability to work with a diverse constituency
To be qualified for the Graduate Program Manager you must meet all of the above minimum criteria PLUS have a Master's degree in a related field OR Two additional years of relevant experience in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISU systems including admissions/CRM, and other higher education systems
- Experience with advising international students
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems, and innovate
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both writing and speaking to large groups.
- Ability to learn quickly, work and solve problems independently, and adapt to new technologies and processes
- Demonstrated ability to understand & interpret policies as outlined in documentation.
Additional Information

Salary will be $47,325 - $49,000 (Associate Program Manager level) or $50,000 - $54,000 (Program Manager level) per year, commensurate with education and experience.
