Job Summary:
We are looking for a self-driven, tech-savvy Accounting Manager to join our growing Accounting Team. You will sit in a pivotal role overseeing Accounts Payable, acting as an expert problem solver as you bridge communication among procurement, operations and AP. This role will manage 1-2 direct reports. The position is full-time, on-site, and based in Midtown, Sacramento, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounts payable process, including one full-time staff, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and management of vendor relations, serving as an ultimate point of escalation on accounts payable issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve AP processing issues for PO backed and non-PO backed invoices, using a strong understanding of end-to-end processes and interdependencies between AP processing and reporting
• Compile, analyze, and report financial information to management
• Support month-end close to produce timely and accurate financials according to GAAP
• Recommend, develop, and implement new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department, with an emphasis on automation where possible
• Support the procurement team and operations teams, ensuring a smooth flow of data
• Responsible for 1099 filings
• Train and evaluate employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product
• Assist with year-end audit requests for documentation related to invoices, approvals and payment support
• Provide support for other ad hoc analyses and projects, as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required
• 5 years of experience as an accounting professional, with 2 years supervisory experience
• Knowledge of monthly accounting cycle and GAAP
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to learn new software and processes quickly
• Ability to appropriately lead, guide, train, and direct a team in accordance with our corporate values
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly proficient in Excel
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ERP Software
• Team-player with a willingness to learn and adapt in a start-up environment
• Experience with NetSuite and AP automation software (Tipalti) is a plus
• A pre-employment background check is required

Salary Range:
$90,000 - $125,000, DOE
