We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who loves the wellness industry and can be part of our spa family!
We are on the island in an ideal location close to the beach and have a friendly and welcoming work environment. However, it cannot be stressed enough that we are a fast paced business and resiliency, multitasking, and problem solving are critical to this position and the successful daily operations of the spa. Because of this, a 90- day probationary period will be put into place. After 90 days, you will be evaluated by our manger and owner to determine your suitability to remain at this position. We strive to provide the best customer service and that starts at the front desk with reception! We are a drama-free workplace!
Please do not apply if you have not yet moved to the area or if you cannot start training within the next week to two weeks. This is a relaxed and peaceful environment for clients but very active and busy for reception.
15 - 20 hours per week at the moment. Working every other Saturday is a requirement.
Inis Spa is located in Surf City and is ranked one of the best spas on the North Carolina Coast by TripAdvisor. We offer massage treatment, facials, microdermabrasion, waxing, and reflexology. Customer service skills
Experience answering a busy telephone line
Strong multitasking skills
Strong written and communication skills
Personable and friendly attitude
Professional demeanor (office attire is preferred)
Works well under pressure! Ability to adapt and maintain composure and productivity in a fast paced environment.

Flexibility in hours. You will have a somewhat fixed schedule but we will require some flexibility in availability.
Spa or salon experience is preferred but not required and we will train the right person.
**Preference will be given to those who have experience working in a busy environment and/or in customer relations as well as those who have worked with a scheduling/booking system and/or have knowledge of spa services and practices.**
Responsibilities:
**Do not apply if you think you are unable to satisfy the daily operations of the spa without fatigue or distress! You must be alert and ready to work at all times.
Reception is responsible for:
Answering a highly active phone line
Checking clients in and out
Knowledge of products and services and the ability to explain them thoroughly to clients
Printing client forms
Some filing
Punctual and strong time management skills
Checking and responding to e-mails and voicemails promptly and professionally, sometimes every hour
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, comfort with basic office technology, and capability of learning and mastering salon booking system with confidence and ease.
Handling cash and different forms of payments accurately
Issuing and redeeming multiple types of gift cards and certificates
Laundry (this is a busy spa, so towels, blankets and sheets are to be done throughout the day! This means washed, folded and put away.
Cleaning is a must! Daily light cleaning is expected and required.
Must have flexible availability. Hours will change and or increase. Closed on Sundays. Must be willing to work long days! Must be available for the duration of the work day which is 9:00 am-6:00 pm. You may not work this entire day but being available and flexible is a must! Hours of operation must be attended to by reception at all times, whether that is by yourself or split with the manager/other receptionist. You must be available to open the spa 30 minutes before open hours for opening procedures and potentially stay 30 minutes beyond close for closing procedures and light cleaning.
