Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (PRN) to join our exceptional team of PreOp/PACU professionals. The ideal candidate will possess at least 2-3 years of experience in the PreOp/PACU. Must commit to at least four shifts within a six-week schedule and demonstrate flexibility to work in both Preoperative (PreOp) and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) areas as needed

WORK SCHEDULE:
- Days - Vary
- Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Care for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia
- Monitor and chart vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level
- Comfort patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients
- Check surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling
- Educate patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
- Cross-train to work in PreOperative area to meet the needs of the unit
EXPERIENCE YOU'LL NEED:
- One or more years of PACU/Critical Care nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital
- Prior PreOp and PostOp experience in an ASC is strongly desired
- Graduate from an accredited nursing institution, BSN preferred
- Current licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS/PALS certification preferred within six (6) months of date of hire
