Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager to join one of our higher education clients in New York, NY. This person will work within a Research Lab environment reporting directly into the Associate Director of Research Operations and Research Operations. They are responsible for overseeing and coordinating operations in the research laboratory facilities. This includes managing resources & students, ensuring equipment is working properly, and following all standard operating procedures (SOPs). Their role is crucial in maintaining efficient lab functioning.
- Ensuring all equipment is functioning properly including but not limited to the tissue culture rooms (biosafety cabinets etc and other biology related equipment and procedures), cold rooms, autoclaves etc.
- Manage new PIs onboarding, new lab design and equipment requirements. Purchase and set up new equipment.
- Participate in new labs design for the CBE department, experience with reviewing construction drawings and floor plans.
Must haves:
- Bachelor's in engineering field (ie chemical engineering, bio-molecular engineering, physics etc..)
- 3 Years of experience working in a lab environment
- Extensive experience in shared instrumentation/equipment facilities
- Knowledge of troubleshooting and contacting vendors for equipment issues.
- Experience with full integration (design, operation and troubleshooting) of process gas infrastructure systems, including but not limited to gas manifolds, gas cabinets and TGMS (toxic gas monitoring system).
- Excellent communication skills. Priority management and time management. Managerial skills.
Plus
- PhD in Engineering
- C14 Certification but will need to acquire this cert in the first couple weeks
Compensation:
$__40__/hr to $__44___/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
Salary : $40 - $44
