Description
A non-exempt position primarily responsible for providing training and support for all system applications, such as EPIC, PCIS, EMA, Phreesia, etc., within the practice site offices to new and existing users. Participates in process improvement activities related to practice site activities.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates system application trainings with new and existing practice site staff members.
- Ensures training program meets the core business needs.
- Meets regularly with staff and management and delivers training/updates, as needed.
- Serves as a subject matter expert/super user offering support for practice site staff in abstracting and scanning documentation of patient information.
- Acts as a liaison between Inspire Health Medical Group affiliates, practice sites, and other business contacts under leadership’s direction, for application support.
- Works with existing training processes/systems to develop and improve operational workflows.
- Stays abreast of all updates/changes with the program and communicates with leadership.
- Completes and/or supports practice site staff with any physician requests.
- Assists operations with problem solving any assigned issues and projects.
- Coordinates and prepares system application training material and provides effective follow-through on all action items, as directed.
- Prepares reference materials through research, spreadsheets, proper documentation with job aides, ensuring that all pertinent information is included and is distributed to practice offices within specified timelines.
- Receives, processes, reports, and tracks information related to the system application operations and issues.
- Helps practices with pending queues or backlogged work, as needed.
- Attends and participates in meetings, as assigned.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Front and Back Office Medical Assisting Program.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years front and/or back office medical assistant experience
- 2 years in administration, manager or lead position, preferred.
- Previous EMR administrative experience, preferred.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of health care field, medical terminology and medical office protocols & procedures.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office, Word and Excel and EPIC EMR software.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with physicians, management, IT personnel, and practice site staff.
- Knowledge of training techniques to help adult learner comprehend and retain material.
- Tact and diplomacy with interpersonal interactions.
Abilities:
- To work independently, create own calendar, manages time and resources appropriately.
- Ability to use all necessary computer software efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to take initiative, use sound judgment, make independent decisions and work with tight deadlines and interruptions.
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
- Ability to plan, prioritize and complete designated tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience when dealing with patients and patient’s families while projecting a pleasant and professional image.
Physical Requirements:
- Considerable time spent walking and standing for up to four to six hours per day.
- Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics when making necessary patient transfers and assisting patients with walking, dressing, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
Equipment Operated:
- Standard medical exam/office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephone systems and may include computerized health information management system for medical records, etc.
Work Environment:
- Combination of medical office, exam/procedure room, and office/desk settings. The position is in a well-lighted, well-ventilated space.
