Assistant Executive Director – Hospice

We're seeking an experienced and motivated leader to join our hospice leadership team. As the Assistant Executive Director, you'll partner with the Executive Director to oversee daily operations, support clinical excellence, and foster a mission-driven culture that values every team member. Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership
    • Assist with managing day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with hospice regulations.
    • Collaborate with department heads to streamline workflows, prioritize resources, and maintain the highest quality of care.
  • Team Engagement & Development
    • Recruit, mentor, and empower diverse clinical and administrative teams.
    • Champion a positive work culture that recognizes achievements and supports ongoing professional growth.
  • Clinical & Quality Oversight
    • Partner with clinical leadership to track performance metrics, implement quality initiatives, and resolve care issues promptly.
    • Conduct periodic audits to ensure patient care aligns with best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Financial & Budget Management
    • Work with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop budgets, forecast needs, and drive cost-effective strategies without compromising patient care.
    • Monitor key financial metrics, ensure fiscal responsibility, and identify opportunities for service expansion.
  • Community & Referral Relations
    • Strengthen partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and referral sources.
    • Represent the hospice at professional events and foster meaningful relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to set goals, monitor growth opportunities, and anticipate industry trends.
    • Contribute to decision-making processes that advance our mission and expand our service offerings.
Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, business or a related field.
    • Proven track record in hospice leadership or a similar healthcare management role.
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state hospice regulations.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Demonstrated success leading and developing multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced setting.
    • Exceptional communication skills with a natural ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Compliance & Quality Focus
    • Hands-on experience with compliance management, accrediting bodies, and quality assurance initiatives.
    • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.
  • Financial Acumen
    • Ability to interpret financial reports, develop budgets, and optimize resources.
    • Comfortable making data-driven decisions to ensure organizational sustainability.
