We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be crucial in promoting a safe and compliant work environment by implementing safety programs, conducting training sessions, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and developing effective solutions to mitigate risks with our clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures by OSHA and EPA regulations.
-Manage and conduct worker's compensation and general liability audits with carrier directly
-Assist clients with OCIP programs
-Assist clients with reciprocal and/or extended multiple state worker's compensation coverage policies
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide employee training and development programs on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure workers' compensation law compliance.
- Collaborate with our clients to promote a safe culture within the organization.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, inspections, and compliance reports.
- Assist in the fabrication of safety equipment or materials as needed.
-Onsite visits to construction sites to work with the crew on safety
Requirements
- Proven experience in a safety-related role in the construction industry, preferably as a Safety Coordinator or similar position.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and workers' compensation laws.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, or similar emergency response training is highly desirable.
- Experience in conducting root cause analysis for workplace incidents.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and engage clients at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and on a team to achieve safety objectives.
- Familiarity with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) practices is a plus.
