Statistical Assistant

Our NYC client is looking to add a Statistical Assistant to their team. This full-time position is located in New York, NY. The contract is anticipated to last 2 years and has the possibility of extension. This contract role will offer a hybrid schedule. The position pay rate is $23-25 per hour, depending on experience.

Statistical Assistant Minimum Candidate Qualifications:

The candidate must have a minimum of:

a.     5 years of experience in data analytics.

b.     5 years of experience in developing Tableau and Power BI dashboards. (you will need to submit a screenshot of a dashboard sample you have developed after interview for consideration)

c.     Proof of eligibility to work in NYS.

Statistical Assistant Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective data models
• Connect BI tools to various data sources, including databases, Excel files, and web services
• Use business intelligence software (Tableau and Microsoft Power BI) to create dashboards and visualize data
• Develop dashboards and key Performance Indicators (KPI) with Power BI and Tableau.
• Design ETL packages dealing with different data transfers between different systems.
• Write, optimize queries and stored procedures
• Create multiple types of reports and packages from SSRS and SSIS
• Designs and prepares periodic reports as per requirements details in official DFS policies
• Use technical expertise to automate manual processes and reporting
• Compile and compute data according to statistical formulas for use in data analysis and/or statistical studies
• Work as Data analyst, by interacting with the researchers and gathering requirement for data discovery  
• Work with complex data sets to understand problems and recommend procedures while using various analytical and statistical approaches
• Prepare business analytics and assist in preparing metrics and reporting
• Respond to ad hoc requests for data, aggregations, and visualizations
• Conduct research and analysis of data at DFS, definitions and usage, system flows, challenges, and opportunities
• Collaborate with business users and business analysts to develop analytical strategies for development of various projects
• Develop documentation including data dictionaries, policies, and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

In addition, the candidate must possess the following abilities:

• Develop metrics and reports
• Data analysis
• Data visualization
• High-level competency in Excel (advanced formulas, macros, etc.)
• Expertise in relational database management systems, SQL, data modeling
• Ability to translate complex business requirements to technical specifications for IT
• Highly motivated and effective working autonomously and as part of cross-functional teams
• Ability to multi-task across projects, and be detail-oriented, and accurate
