Interdynamics Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) will focus their work on helping patients with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, mood disorders, postpartum depression, and more. Interdynamics is seeking a Psychiatric Nurses Practitioner who has the licensing and certification that allows them to work directly with these kinds of patients, diagnosing and treating mental health illnesses and problems. As valuable members of Interdynamics’ team of clinicians, the nurse practitioner with a psychiatric specialty is vital in helping Interdynamics’ patients thrive in the community.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Psychiatric nurses focus their work on medical and psychiatric diagnosing. These nurse practitioners have a variety of responsibilities including:
Evaluate scheduled patients consistent with prevailing practices standards. This includes collection of psychiatric history, relevant medical history, social and family history, mental status exam, diagnosis and devising a treatment recommendation
Establish rapport with patient to assist them in understanding and accepting treatment recommendations within a shared decision-making model
To prescribe and implement treatment consistent with diagnosis and relevant standards, including the prescription of medications consistent with the Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice Complete records accurately and in a timely fashion. Generally, this means the same day of the service provided.
Cooperate with other medical services around vacation coverage, both direct and medication refills as necessary Collaborate with internal and external clinicians, administrative staff and management staff to provide the best care to all clients/patients of Interdynamics Responsible for the recommendation for and/or completion of a Psychiatric evaluation and the management of all clients in need of such services.
Order tests necessary to monitor certain bodily function levels.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor This is a contractual/part-time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess and maintains a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner license (Certified by Maryland Board of Nursing)
Ability to engage patients in the therapy, or a willingness to learn
Ability to use electronic health records and willingness to learn and use Therapy Notes (EHR) Some of the mental illnesses the nurse practitioner may work with include: Anxiety Panic attacks Bipolar disorder ADHD ADD Depression Alcoholism Drug use Schizophrenia PTSD Trauma Postpartum depression
